This famous B-3 “Bomber Jacket WWII Edition P-51 Mustang” from Battle Britain of USAAF and of RAF began service life in 1936 looking very much differently from the typical B-3 Flight Jackets seen in service after 1941.
This B-3 Flight Jacket is an accurate reproduction from a vintage example produced at Scott Field Air Depot (S.F.A.D.) in 1937. It’s a rarity among B-3 Flight Jacket, looking very different from the typical B-3 Flight Jackets.
This is the 3rd generation of this jacket style, now featuring Brown sleeve reinforcements and trim with an overall significantly more subtle, vintage Time-Wear. The Top Grain Suede Leather that is famously light, durable, and graciously supple.
Our Top Grain Suede Leather in color Matte Beige is also specially treated to make it resistant to water, gasoline, oil, and dirt. All trim leather and arm reinforcements are made of goatskin, as per original spec. (some jackets had sleeve reinforcements and trim from horsehide).
Lessy Aviator® jackets soft inside fur is specially treated with anti-allergy treatment, and it’s made in High-Quality Synthetic Merino Sheepskin.

I went and picked up the package from the port office today and as soon as I pulled the jacket out I was blown away. When I put it on the sleeves we’re snug on my arms, the torso perfect around me. The fit was dead-on! The staff were so accommodating when dealing with my measurements. I usually get jackets in size 36 as I like a nice, fitting look. But I’m glad the 38 was suggested to me! It fits absolutely perfectly. And the look! Oh, the look. It looks absolutely perfect. The quality is such a compliment to the designers/crafters eye for detail. I purchased this jacket 02/01/2021 and cannot be more pleased. I had been conversing with Jose Manuel and this man is very professional and courteous. I had been looking for a Bomber B-3 for a long time and Lessy Aviator didn’t disappoint. The Synthetic Sheepskin inside is plush and supple super High quality. I decided to buy this jacket for being allergic to animal hair. The leather is tough and weathered just perfectly. This will be my final winter coat. When my father was in England during WWII, he was in the 8th AF (Air Forces Strategic) and flew in B-24s. One of the photos I have of him is in his B-3. It has been a dream of my life to own a jacket like that. This year I decided that it was time to fill that dream. I didn’t want an overseas-made knock-off of the B-3, this had to be the real thing. I looked for a long time at many different sources. I thought the offering from Lessy Aviator looked the best. However, I had some questions about the product and am not located anywhere near their showroom . This means that there was no chance to look at it, feel it, or try it on. so, I would have to trust the folks at Lessy Aviator to be my eyes and hands. I traded several e-mails with Jose Manuel. Responses came quickly and were right to the point. The final question involved the look of the jacket because I had seen a photo that raised a question about the color. Jose Manuel went to the showroom floor, pulled a jacket in my size, photographed it, and sent the photo to me. That was what I needed and sent in my order. The order was placed on the Friday.
